Okay so I’ll be truthful. When I started the movie, I was just a tad bit bored. Not in the yawn, snooze kind of way, but more in the cynical “What could possibly happen next?” kind of way. I low-key expected Maddie to die from her SCID, and my tear glands were all geared up and ready to cry a river the same way I did when I saw The Fault in Our Stars. Yes, I bawled like a child all the times I saw that movie.
Anyway, I was all set to cry and then the twist happened… Oh are you expecting me to say what happened? Nah I don’t give spoilers *insert tongue out here*
It was a really good movie. That much I can spill. The Alessia Cara song was perfect for it, I swooned every time I saw them text while staring at each other from the window- it was a love so innocent, and so underappreciated in today’s world. No nudity, no profanities. I loved the pace of it, the chemistry between the cast, and that the love wasn’t too ‘Wonderland’. And the fact that it was a biracial relationship? Swoon!
Although, apart from the really awesome plot twist, the movie was pretty plain. Same old love story, puppy eyes and flowers all around. The twist was the peak of the movie, and the only part that actually got me to sit up. Plus am I the only one who’s totally crazy about Maddie?
I have a couple questions for the directors of that movie though. Top of that list would be: Why did they have to make Olly have a sister? Am I the only one who thought her presence in the movie was completely unnecessary?
All in all, I love the movie. Did you love it too? Did you hate it? What do you think? Tell us!
I know I’m so late, but everything, everything is a good movie. The girl is so pretty.
