Dancing Senator Adeleke announces his intent to run for Governorship in Osun state: Are we about to have a Dancing governor in Nigeria?
Osun state senator and Father of HKN artiste Sina Rambo- Senator Adeleke has declared his interest to run for Osun state governorship in 2019. Although Senator Adeleke got popular for his dance video after his victory in the Osun state senatorial election last year, but can his popularity as a dancing senator transcend to victory for him the governorship election?
Senator Adeleke’s victory at the senatorial election last year seemed like a product of pity following the death of his brother Hon Isisaka Adleke who died amidst the struggle for the senatorial seat. Nonetheless, latching on nothing else other than his popular dance moves, does he have the political strength to stand against APC in 2019?
Running as a candidate under PDP is sure a daring task especially with the fact that he would be coming as a candidate to unseat the ruling party. Nonetheless, presenting Governor Rauf Aregbesola’s eight years in office, do you think his performance is strong enough to earn APC another four years in Osun state?
There is no doubt 2019 elections would be one of the biggest and most controversial elections in Nigeria. From the drama in APC about Buahri’s declaration for a second term to the several actions and comments by ex-president Obasanjo and Babangida about the current government; it obvious drastic and desperate action would be employed to influence election results. Hence for a fresher in Politics like Senator Adeleke, do you think he has the wealth of experience to handle the drama and pressure that would follow his journey to governorship?
