Superstar RnB artiste cum actor Banky W has announced that he has plans to set up a restaurant. He made this known during an interview with Tosyn Buknor on Inspiration FM. According to the EME boss, the business is going to start as an online service and push it further from there. More as diversifying sounds like a good business step, what is happening to EME please?
In 2009, Banky unveiled Wizkid and Skales as EME new acts, during what turn out to be short but successful escaped for the label as the artiste respectively parted ways 5 years later and went on to become forces to reckon with in the Nigerian music industry.
2 years later, EME signed Shaydee and Niyola in a bid to replicate the success recorded with Wizkid in the budding talents, In 2014, Niyola was all over the media with “Toh bad” and went on to bag The Headies best female Vocal performance. Shaydee also went to bag the Best Vocal Performance (Male) in 2016, but how come they never had a hit bigger than Wizkid’s “Holla At Your Boy”? Why was it so had for Banky to replicate same success in these two?
After Don Jazzy and D Banj broke up in 2011, the celebrate Mohit ran into a brick, but while music fans were all about the gist and rumors, Jazzy flagged off a rejuvenated Mavin Record in 2012. Even with the sudden exit of Wande, Jazzy took the risk of diluting the label’s arsenal with young bloods to birth the music power house now Nigeria takes pride. If Don Jazzy could make this much out of nothing, will it be difficult for Banky W to rebrand EME with the starring number of talents scattered around the industry?
