Senior special assistant to the President on new media, Bashir Ahmad says the president is committed to completing the projects he inherited from the previous administration. Indeed the statement seems convingcing but should we accept this as an excuse from the deplorable state of the nation?
One social media post that trended last month and early this month was a 20,000 Naira offer for anyone that could point at a project that Buahri has successfully completed during his three years in office so far. Interestingly, no completed project could help a Buhari fan win that prize. Hence, looking at the intended defense in Bashir Ahmads tweet, don’t you think the purpose of his tweet has turned against him and his boss?
Nobody can easily forget how Buhari proudly boasted of his power to defeat Boko Haram if elected. With the constant emphasis on the boko haram issue during his campain, one would have thought Buhari had Boko Haram under his control. Hence, asides the persistent epileptic power supply in the nation and additional security threat from the Fulani herds men; if we were to examine the past three years of Buhari’s government, from different claims that BH has been defeated to constant attacks by the group in response to those claims; and the recent kidnap of Dapchi school children, would you say Buhari really came to complete the unfinished projects of the past administration or do the opposite?
