Kiss Daniel’s former record label, G. worldwide has just sued him for breaking his contract.According to the law suit, the artiste signed a 7 year contract with the label in 2013 and by calculation still has 3 years left.
Kiss Daniel enjoyed massive success under the label, including having the best album in 2016 as recognized by Headies for “New Era” but despite all these, Kiss Daniel seemed unhappy with the terms of the contract which was evident as he could not feature artistes outside his record label.
Many have argued that this limited his growth but he did very well regardless. But was he blind when he signed the contract in the first place?
Sometime in November, Kiss Daniel announced he had set up his new label, “Fly Boy ent“. Amidst a lot of congratulatory messages, the very act might have some negative impact now.
G. Worldwide are suing on grounds that he is performing using songs recorded with the label, contained in his old and forthcoming album. Also, what is bewildering is the allegation that the stage name, “Kiss Daniel” belongs also to the label.
This has taken a left turn for an artiste we were all eager to see what he could do on his own and we can only wish he has taken all these into consideration before making such a bold move.
Well, see what he tweeted now:
Does anyone think he stands a chance?
