Manchester United face Crystal Palace tomorrow at Wembley stadium in the 2016 FA Cup final which will ultimately decide Louis Van –Gaal’s fate if he would continue as the Red devils manager for next season. If he fails to win, his future hangs in the balance and Jose Mourinho could finally take over as Manchester United Manager.
We examine the key match-ups that we are about to expect in the final:
Manchester United’s Front-line of Speed-Stars
Loius Van- Gaal would be hoping to start Anthony Martial who has proven himself since his big-money move of 36 pounds last summer, scoring 18 goals in his debut season and clocked an average speed of 22mph combined with Young Marcus Rashford who’s had a stellar performance to his career at Old Tratfford scoring 8 goals in 18 matches. The duo will be facing Crystal Palace defense who have conceded 51 goals this season In league barely escaped relegation after a win-less streak of 14 games .
Wilfred Zaha back to haunt Manchester United
Wilfred Zaha was Sir Alex Ferguon’s last signing for 15 m pounds from Crystal Palace before he reigned as Manchester United Manager before he was loaned back to the club for 6 months. Under David Moyes disastrous campaign after Sir Alex left Zaha only made a couple of sub substitute appearances, 2 caps for the National team and was farmed out back to Crystal Palace at the end of the season. Since then, Zaha as shown the sort of displays that were expected of him at Manchester United in the colors of Crystal Palace being the 4th best dribbler in the all of Europe top leagues, only behind Hatem Ben-Arfa of Nice, Riyad Mahrez of Leceister and Neymar of Barcelona. His ability to dribble past full-backs down the flanks will test the Red- Devils full –back resolve in Mateo Darmian who’s had shaky start to life in the Premiership.
Strong Mid – Field from both teams
Manchester United have a plethora of midfielders to start in tomorrow’s FA cup final which could be a selection headache for Louis Van- Gaal. Mouraine Fellaini is back from his suspension and his in contention to with Schneider,Juan Mata, AnderHerrera, Micheal Carrick and Wayne Rooney who’ been withdrawn to subdued Mid-field due to his lack of pace anymore . On the other hand Crystal Palace have their talismanic Frenchman,Johan Cabaye available for tomorrows match and Alan Pardew would probably be pairing him with Miles Jedinak who’s being known to break-up plays and intercept balls in the heart of Crystal Palace mid-field.
The Under-Dogs Curse
The other half of Manchester, Manchester City suffered a surprising defeat to Wigan in 2013 FA cup final who were finally relegated at the end of the season and are currently in the third tier of English Football. Over the years Under-dogs have had a point to prove with Arsenal also escaping defeat in the hands of Hull City after going down 2 nil in the first half of the final. Manchester United will be hoping to avoid losing to the under-dogs and Crystal Palace will be hoping to prove pundits wrong and beat the Red devils who are the favorites to win the cup.
What are your predictions for the match, will Manchester United go on to win their 12 FA cup title and move on par with Arsenal or Crystal Place will beat Manchester United to win their first ever FA cup trophy ?
