Taking a break from the euphoria of the global recognition the Nigerian music industry is currently relishing, do you truly think the industry will have come this far without the advent of the internet?
Just in case you still doubt the contribution of the internet to the development of Nigerian music, Niki Tall – a half Greek half German producer who releases covers for virtually all the big afro-pop Nigerian songs on Youtube is a living testimony you need to meet to understand how well the internet has simplified communication and broken the barrier of distance across all geographical location around the continents of the world through social media web pages and other platforms.
In an exclusive interview with Views Channel, Niki Tall revealed he has never spent five straight days in Nigeria on both occasions he visited in 2015, & 2016. Having introduced himself as a producer, the half German half German music professional further explained that his love for Nigerian songs grew when he became friends with some Nigerians in Germany.
According to the Oyinbo boy, Oritsefemi’s Double – Wahala was the most challenging cover for him to record because of the depth of Yoruba language in the lyrics. Kiss Daniel – Woju remained the easiest for him to jump on based on his love for the melody.
Beyond the covers, Niki Tall revealed that his fan should expect more songs from him as an act and possible collaboration with Wizkid, D Banj, Oritse Femi, Kiss Daniel and other big Nigerian acts who he confirms to have a working relationship with.
