Chocolate city boss, M.I has released a new project – “Rendezvous” according to the rapper, the project is neither an album nor a mixtape. It’s a curated collection of tracks, with proper transition and a subtle storyline through all the records, this is a first in the Nigerian music industry
At 15 tracks and a running span of 55 minutes, it offers a new version of Jude Abaga; one who is at the center of the New Wave of Nigeria’s music culture, delivered by an emerging class of creatives.
Musically, it is a bit of a tour; a riding bus through different stations of Nigerian music, where artists are picked and delivered into a mobile studio for a verse, a hook, or something to add to the growing monster.
Much of the music is crafted lyrically with neo-Trap also combining a groovy R&B vibe, before transitioning into soft and lyrically-driven reggaeton. “Illegal Music 3” still enjoys the shelve life of an expository mixtape while the “Chairman” album sounds more like a bumper body of work compared to Rendezvous
