The Super eagles of Nigeria are going into battle with the Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday in Uyo in what would be very decisive in determining who goes through to next year’s World Cup finals.
This is how it stands in the group now with two games to go.A win would send the Super eagles into the World cup finals but a draw would not be bad also.
One thing many Nigerians are very aware of is how good their opponents are. Even though we beat them 2-1 away in the first qualifier game, the Chipolopolos have gotten stronger and more confident in their quest to secure a historic qualification to the finals after beating the group favorites Algeria in both legs.
But there is one thing we can all agree, the Super eagles have been really impressive. There seems to be a breathe of fresh air around the squad following the appointment of the new manager Gernot Rohr.
The squad is younger and it feels like we can finally build on something for the future, so can we say even if we don’t qualify it is not the worst thing ever?
Should we still continue with this squad and the manager if we somehow lose out on qualification.. after coming from hopelessness to top of the group? A group which is termed the ‘group of death’
