The palace of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu has reportedly been gutted by fire. This is happening barely one week after Oba Rilwan Akiolu publicly shunned the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi at an event in Lagos.
The fire started from an air conditioner in an apartment inside the palace, destroying furniture and other household items in the room. Punch reports.
The king is said to have been taken to a safe place. Firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service, Shari Iganmu and Ilupeju stations were present to put out the fire.
After the public shun by the Oba of Lagos, recall we reported that the Head of Palace Directorate of Tourism in Ife, Awoyemi Tunde stated that if the Oba of Lagos doesn’t apologize, they will call on the ancestors. (Read Here) “If we don’t receive an apology especially with the image of Ile-Ife, we will call on the ancestors on the issue,” he said.
