Barely three months after his explosive open letter to Buhari, Obasanjo come s for the President again. While addressing Chima Anyaso led New Nigeria group at the Olusegun Obasanjo presidential library in Abeokuta, Ogun state yesterday, he advised the team not to vote in a failed leader for the second time so they do not face the same situation as they did in his first government. Presenting what seems like black painting the current administration, would you regard Obasanjo’s act as patriotic or “bad belle talk”?
You will recall that after his open letter to Buhari in January, Obasanjo later came out to clear the air on his intents behind the letter; in his words, there was no bad belle intention from his letter. Indeed many felt Obasanjo’s letter was the most appropriate intervention to the current administration but don’t you think it was also the trigger for the increased request for a new government?
It might interest you to know that Obasanjo also mentioned to the guests at the Obasanjo Library that neither PDP nor APC can give the desired change Nigeria wants. This should not surprise Nigerians as he already suggested a replacement for these two parties in his open letter where he mentioned the need for a New Nigeria Alliance to help build the Nigeria of our dreams. In your opinion however, do you think Obasanjo is in the best position to make such suggestion on National issues?
Surprisingly, Obasanjo has gone ahead to establish his political movement as he suggested in his open letter. Although he has not publicly stated that the movement would as well produce candidates for presidential elections, you would agree that Donald Duke’s active involvement in the movement speaks a lot of volume in that area. With 2019 in focus, do you think Obasanjo’s words against Buhari would make Nigerians endorse his own candidate for the next elections?
