Not too long ago, the Dangote inspired reconciliation between Olamide and Don Jazzy over the The Headies controversial Next Rated category victory by Reekado banks ahead of Lil Kesh looked like the bosses indeed regretted their actions and really thought it through to trash the sin and embrace forgiveness to be friends for life. Not knowing that there is more to what the public needs to know about this.
Yesterday, 29th of May 2016 at Yaw’s annual comedy show, “Shalanga” held at Eko Hotel, Olamide was on the bill to perform alongside his label protege Adekunle Gold, Burna Boy, Phyno, Vector, Falz, Solid star, Reekadobanks, Korede Bello, CDQ, Y Cee, Pepenazi among-st other A list music acts and comedians. The VIP tables were colored with important dignitaries like Wife Of Lagos State Ex Governor Mrs. Emmanuela Fashola, Austin Jay Jay Okocha and other celebrities amongst which Don Jazzy and the Mavin crew was represented.
Everything seem to be going well with the show as comedian and music acts take turns, up until the YBNL boss Olamide was called to loud ovation, coming in with his latest single Abule Sowo, fans took on the make shift back up singer rolls, singing along as he moved from Don’t Stop, to The Money, Who You Eep, Lagos Boys, Oya Dab and the most anticipated Shakiti Bobo. But before DJ Eni Money played Shakiti Bobo, Baddo stopped him while he scratches the intro to obvious say something to the highly responsive audience.
In his words
People for here na street people. See some people because they don get small table them go dey form, but nothing do us sha… you see street people, people we dey real wey get money pass them wey dey felenjo wey dey be happy… awa ogbese ran anyboy o… iyalaya any body o street ti take over turn up sneh!
Much as Olamide looked and sounded a bit tipsy, his words came out clear and understood to be taking to the big boys who has refused to stand up let alone dance while other fans crowed the stage. However, the notable face on that table was Okocha who call camera from the press pan to and the empty table of the Mavin crew who had left immediately after Reekado Banks performance. But on a second thought, who could Olamide be referring to, if not any of this two?
Speaking of affiliation, Austin Jay Jay Okocha is obviously not in the same league with Olamide, chances of having a conversation let alone a confrontation seem to be very slim. So, if we may ask, what do you think could still be going on between Olamide and The Mavins?
After performing Shakiti Bobo, which he did off stage, moving round the VIP area to interact with the waiters and audience at the regular upstairs, Olamide also had this to say as he signed out.
In his words
I know say I no meet some of the artist before I come yea, many of them don perform them don go yea, I want everybody out here tonight to pay attention to details, you see… una fit come here come flex you see all those waiters wey dey there, wey they give una chops to chop, if them one poison una them go poison una, we have to make them happy, everybody they pressurize all this people, their Oga from family and friends and everything, there family go they talk say sebi you work for Eko Hotel why you no fit borrow us money… my best advise is, what ever we do, we should always find a way to balance between the rich and the poor, but if una think say the poor is not important, its alright them go put poison for una food… thank you
