A turtleneck is a necessary part of everybody’s closet; both male and female, working 9-5 or boss of your own, party lover or corporate events only, whatever class you fall into, you should possess at least one turtleneck; sweater, dress, whatever. Plus we’re going into the really cold season now – winter if that applies to you, and harmattan if you’re in Nigeria, so this is the perfect time to rock a turtleneck and look hot, literally and metaphorically.
TO THE OFFICE: You can wear a turtleneck beneath a blazer to the office. It gives you a different look from the regular shirt and tie, and it still qualifies as corporate. Win-win, yeah? If you don’t want to wear a blazer, you could tuck it into a pair of tailored trousers, or a penciled skirt or A-line skirt and a pair of really nice shoes.
LAYERING: You can change the layering game by wearing a turtleneck sweater over a shirt, or a shirt on a turtleneck, on a nice pair of ripped jeans. It would give a classy but sorta rugged look, fit for time out with the girls or with the guys, or a casual day out. If you’d rather not wear shirt and sweater, you can go with an after dress or kimono instead. Same thing
POP OF COLOR: Gloomy day? Nothing brightens the day like a pop of colour. You can go with a bright turtleneck sweater. Purples, reds, oranges and blues brighten our day every time. And a pop of colour is never out of place. Except at a white and black event of course.
Well, that’s how to rock your sweaters. You’re welcome!
